Brenda McDaniel Ford was two years old in this November 1959 photo. The horse was three-year-old Smokey. Brenda's father, Carol, said Smokey was especially gentle with Brenda and always walked at a slow gait when she was aboard.

In the earliest days Maud would follow along behind the planter with a hoe covering up the seeds.

Secil had bought the train set for the children. Their mother remembers the children did not want to come to the dinner table because they didn't want to leave their train set. It is still in the family.
