Amanda Catherine Gains b. April 24, 1838 in Tennessee, maybe Weakley Co,Tennessee; married James W. Henson. Head of Household James W. Henson 45 born La. Amanda C 31 born Tn, Robert 12 born La, Julia 5 Mo and Louella 2 Mo. were on 1870 census Greene Co, Arkansas, Johnson Township, Post Office Big Creek.Another son John E. Henson born 1871 Mo.I think James died in 1873 because Amanda was a widow with Julia Ann, Louella Josephene and John E. Henson in Pocahontas, Randolph Co. Arkansas in 1880. Julia m. Robert L. Ray Dec 14, 1887 in Pocahontas. My Father Walter Farmer Ray was b. March 13, 1896 in Bloomington, Monroe Co. Indiana. Walter m. Bessie Mae(Pettigrew) Davis Nov. 13, 1919 in Pocahontas, Daughter of William & Georgia Anna(Sullivan). Julia m 2nd James R. Pendergrass, 3rd. Will Wess,4th. George B. Collier. Amanda Henson, Mac Ray 15 & Henry Pendergrass died of Pneumonia in 1916. All are buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas. Julia died Feb. 23, 1933. I would like to know where in Tn. Amanda was born and who her father was. Her mother was Catherine ( ) Gains born 1800 in N.C. The family was on 1840 & 1850 Weakley Co., Tn. censuses. My maternal Grandmother was Georgia Anna Sullivan. I think her parents were James & Mary Sullivan. James was born Feb 15, 1852 Ballyhoullihan, Ireland son of Dermot & Julia (Curran ) Sullivan.In 1840 C. Gains was head of household with total of 10 members in the household.In 1850 C Gains 50 N.C.,Elizabeth 21, Ira 19,Orias 17, Manda 13 Weakley Co, Tn. 1860 Amanda C. Gains with Elizabeth Ludym ( Questionable spelling ) head of household,William H. 7, Charles B.4 & Mary 2 were in Stoddard Co, Castor Township, Bloomfield, Mo.
