Alexander McEachern was brought from Glasgow to Canada by his aunt Mrs. Mary Thom and her husband, name unknown, in 1855 as a nine year old. He came into the United States in 1865 via the Port of Detroit and went to the Eau Claire,WI area. He married twice, first into the Wrights who came to Wisconsin from England via Canada and then into the McLeans, who came from New Brunswick, Canada to Wisconsin. His families lived in Wisconsin; Minnesota; Manitoba, Canada and Idaho from 1865 to the 1940's. The last of the male McEachern line are in California and Washington state. I am particularly hoping to learn more about Mrs. Mary Thom (his mother's sister) and her unknown husband and where they lived in Canada between 1855 and 1892 when Mrs. Thom, as a widow, came to live with Alexander's family. The whole family is connected with the Isle of Mull in Scotland and the tiny village of Fionnephort. I am also looking for traces of his grandaughter, name unknown, of his son Chester Gilbert McEachern and his first wife, Elizabeth Graham Robinson. Their marriage took place in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada sometime after 1910. | The Alexander McEachern Family Home PageAlexander McEachern Updated September 5, 2000 |
