Notes for Sarah ???: 1850 - Census - Dryden, Lapeer Co, Michigan; shows she was 69 years old, female and born in New York. She and her husband had George Howard, age 8, born in Upper Canada (?) living with them. [Probably a grandson].
1860 - Census - Lapeer Co, Michigan; shows she was 72 years old, female and born in New York. She and her husband had Henry Howard, age 16, born in Canada living with them. [Probably a grandson].
1870 - Census - Didn't find listed in Michigan or in Kansas.
1880 - Census - Son's information says that parents were both born in Canada.
There was a Sarah Adams that was born 13 Sep 1787 in Pawlet, Rutland, VT of Jesse Adams and Zerviah Cady. She married a James Howard in Wallingford, Rutland, VT on 21 Nov 1808. Dates and places seem to fit pretty well. Rutland is in the far western part of VT, just across the New York line. Also this would have been on a rather direct line from Mass. where James was born to Canada, where he stopped next on his way to Michigan. (LDS files)
