| I will attempt to create a web page to show the descendants and ancestors of Daniel Webster Burke, Dessie Lee Parrish (Burke), Herbert Eugene Corbitt, and Maxine Moore (Corbitt). The Burkes have been in Florida from the mid 1800's to the present. They were first highly concentrated in Calhoun County (formerly Washington Co.), Florida. Dan Burke's section is now primarily concentrated in the Tampa Bay area (more specifically, Kenny Drive). The Parrish side also has strong roots in Florida. I'm only recently learning about my roots on my Granny Burke's side. I have a lot to still learn about the Corbitt side of my family. It is my grandfather's side. However, I never knew him because he died before I was ever born. I do know that they have strong roots in Florida, as well. He and his family were from the Ft. Meade region of Florida. My grandmother's side of the family has strong roots in the Ozarks of Arkansas. She and her brothers and sisters were mostly born in Ash Flat. Most of them reside in or near Jonesboro and Monette, Arkansas today. My grandmother, however, resides in Tampa, Florida, near her daughter Frances and son Dale. |
