Please be aware this is a work in progress and replaces a similar page that was "lost" when my computer died in 2006 causing me to lose much information. To any family members, if you could once again supply me with family dates, birthdays, children's names, spouses, death dates, I would greatly appreciate it. Originally researching my family for years, back to 1630 in Stamford Connecticut, we now find that we have gone beyond that time frame in "the new world" and are traveling back farther, 29 generations to England and France at the dawn of the first Millenium. Among our ancestors are; Captain Myles Standish, John Alden, Henry Samson, William, Alice and their daughter Priscilla Mullins, Stephen Hopkins & his daughter, Constance Hopkins who were all Mayflower passengers Henry II, Henry III and Edward I, Kings of England It may seem far-fetched to say these people are relatives, but the doccumentation relating us is certainly found through Ancestry.com and the Mayflower Society has verified our heritage to as recent as our Great-grandfather. I openly welcome any family members or interested individuals to contact me at PilgrimCT@aol.com with any additions, corrections, questions or pointers no matter how trivial you may feel they might be. I welcome any and all copies of family photos and photos of family homes, cars, or boats or other things precious to your family. As macabre as it sounds, photos of grave stones are appreciated as well. At this point in time I'd greatly appreciate any information on Henry I. (Irving?) McFarland (possibly Macfarlane), born 1815 and his ancestry in Scotland, Ireland and his brothers. Also Albert C Willson, born 1815 in Bedford NY We are also currently trying to find any information at all on Thomas McFarland, born 10/07/1938 and Marcy McFarland, daughter of Elizabeth Venuti and Lawrence R. McFarland in the early 1940's, Charles Weeks and his daughter Florence M Weeks Myers. Family lore states that my grandfather, Lewis Ullyses McFarland got his middle name because his father, William I McFarland was associated somehow, either as Aide de camp or attended medical assistance on Gen. Ullyses S Grant during the Civil War and that the Lewis came from a family association with Meriwether Lewis. I look forward to hearing from anyone who can substanciate any of this. Thanking everyone for their contributions to this site, Lawrence J McFarland-Groves Connecticut USA Member Connecticut Society of Genealogists Inc. |
