| Welcome to the McFadden Ontario Home Page Having discovered that my family name is really "mcfadden" rather than "macfadden", I have been exploring our family back six generations in Ontario. The family settled in an area south of Ottawa. Kemptville and Oxford-On-Rideau were the primary settlements in the early and mid-parts of the 1800's. I have confirmed lineage back to John McFadden, born in 1800 in Ireland and married to Hannah Snider. I believe his father (my great-great-great grandfather) was James McFadden, born in Ireland around 1776. James married Gitty who came from the US. They may have been United Empire Loyalists.
