| The Family names that make up our Ancestors include BECKINGHAM, WHIT(E)BREAD, FITCHET(T), HACKER and of course McGAHEY as the main names on Alex' side of the family, with BOVINGDON and HATHAWAY on Gill's side, although there are naturally a lot more. The BECKINGHAM and WHIT(E)BREAD names have been traced back to 1650 in Wiltshire, and we are in contact with relatives from this line all over the world. Similarly, the FITCHET(T) and HACKER line goes back to circa 1700 in Oxfordshire and again, there are descendants worldwide. BOVINGDON and HATHAWAY are a relatively new area of research and seem to stem from Buckinghamshire and the London area. McGAHEY comes from Antrim in Northern Ireland and we are only back to around the mid 1800's. |
