Will 1799

In the name of God, Amen, I William Richardson of Harford County of the State of Maryland, being sick and week in body but sound of mind and memory considering the certinty of death and uncertainty of thr time there of and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and therby better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me, hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and testiment in manner and form following that is to say--

First and principally I cmmit my soul into the hands of almighty God and my body to the earth to be decintly buried at the direction of my executor and executrice herein after named and after my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequest as follows:

I give and bequest unto my four sons Vincent, Benjamin, Samuel and Joshua all of my lands of whatever nature or kind s--- to them their heirs and assigns forever Except my son Vincents part which it is my will and desire that my son Benjamin should keep the possion of and hold in trust for the use and maintainace of my son Vincent and in case my said son Vincent should die without lawful issue I give my said son Vincents part of my lands to my said son Benjamin his heirs andassigns foreever.

Item I give and bequest unto my son Williams children all the property such as one negro Man Bed of furniture - mentioned in a bill of sale from son William to me and recorded among the records of Harford Coounty court and it is my will and desire that my son Benjamin hold in his possesion all of the said property for the use and in trust of my son Williama children and for their education and maintainace.

Item I give and bequest to my well beloved wife Mary Richardson, the use of all of my estate both real and personal during her natural life or term of widowhood, but in case she shall marry or waste my estate, or shall be thought to do so by my son Benjamin Richardson, my other executor to my estate then and in that case my will and desire is that all my estate should be taken out of her hands and put into the possession of my other executor Benjamin Richardson for the use of my estate agreeable to the dispostion there of by me made in this last will and testiment.

Item I give to my son Henry Richardson five shellings and no more of my estate real or personal--.

Item Whereas I have already given my daughter Martha Amos wife of Modecai Amos one negro woman named Suck. My will and desire is that my daughte Martha Amos have no more of my estate either real or personal.

Item: I give and bequest to my son William Richardson five shillings and no more of my estate either real or personal.

Item: I give and bequest to my sons Vincent Richardson, Benjamin Richardson, Samuel Richardson, Joshua Richardson and to my daughters Elizabeth Richardson and Mary Richardson all the rest of my estate after the death or day of marriage of my beloved wife aforsaid share and share alike and I mean heeby to include those Negroes formerly the estate of Sarah Bond and for which I am now at law with George Bradford. My will and desire is that my son Benjamin Richardson hold in posesion all the estate left by me to my daughter Elizabeth Richardson and for her use to be apply towards her maintainance.

And lastly I do herby appoint and consitute my beloved wife Mary and my son Benjamin Richardson to be ezcutrix and executor of this my last will and testiment.
