Notes for James Kerr: James was a farmer, and migrated with his wife and family to Knox County, Ohio, in 1818 where he bought a farm of 160 acres in Clay Township. His wife Betsy died on this farm, aged forty-two years; he subsequently sold this farm to his son Robert, and moved to Licking County, Ohio, where he resided with his son-in-law, Aquilla Barber, until his death, at the age of eighty-seven years
James second marriage to Elizabeth Forsythe is unproven.
