"Thomas sailed from the Port of London, September 30, 1635 , bound for the "Bermudoes" in the good ship "Dorset". Thi s information was from "List of Immigrants to America, 1600 -1700" by Hotten. He may have been the Thomas Joyner who se ttled in Accomac, for a Thomas Joyner was a headright of El izabeth and Rachell Robbins, orphans of Edward Robbins, wh o patented 350 acres in Northampton Co., June 4, 1646, fo r the transportation of 7 persons among whom was Thomas Joy ner. Thomas Joyner purchased land in Isle of Wight prior t o July 12, 1665, which was the date William Boddie patente d 3350 acres in Isle of Wight "northerly to the corner of T homas Joyner near to the head of Elm Swamp." Thomas Joyne r later patented 1300 acres in Cypress Swamp in that coun t in 1675."
