"The McIntosh Family of New York"

My brothers and I were born in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, New York. Our parents were also born in New York, our father, in Lower Manhattan, our mother in Bay Ridge. My research has lead me to my great-grandfather, Elmer Daniel, who served in the Union Army with D Company, 86th Infantry Regiment New York. He enlisted on September 10, 1861 and was discharged May 4, 1864 with the rack of Full Corporal. My grandfather, Elmer LeRoy, was born to him and his wife, Sarah Hackney, in Washington, D.C. about 1865. My father, Elmer Daniel, was born on October 28, 1902 to him and his wife, Flora Hoffman. My father married Margaret Braun on September 22, 1935. He died in Jacksonville, Florida on December 9, 1991. My brothers and I have eight grandchildren, two of which are boys that can carry on the family name.
