Glever Dallas Jackson married (2nd wife) Lora Brasher. While looking at cemeteries in Wilsonville I found many Brashers names at the Wilsonville City Cemetery. Most of Ernest Edwin Jackson's mother's side of the family (Gamel) is buried in the Sylacauga (Marble) City Cemetery. Ernest Edwin Jackson is buried beside his wife Dorothy Bates Jackson at a cemetery between Pensacola and Ft. Walton. It is closer to Pensacola. Ernest Edwin Jackson had lived the last of his life close to Holly Navarre, Florida. He died of pancreatic cancer and emphysema. He chose not to take Chemo or other treatment. Mother tended to him until his death December 26, 1981. Daddy was an articulate person. He set type for newspapers as one of his jobs. Notes for William Otis Jackson: Uncle Otis died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His son "Billy" died the same way. Uncle Otis left one daughter named Gloria. Uncle Otis and my Daddy, Ernest Edwin Jackson could sing together beautifully. They could harmonize and I remember them singing "I'm forever blowing bubbles". I remember going to the funeral home to stay with Uncle Otis with my sister Dorothy Faye Jackson. Daddy could not handle the death and could not even go to the funeral home. When my son Barry died of suicide (19 yrs old) it made me wonder if there are more suicides in this family. My sister and I received the call at home about Uncle Otis. The person calling said that the man they were calling about was called "Jack". As my father was called "Jack" and my uncle Otis was called "Jack" we did not know which it was until we went to this home out in the country and identified him. We picked up my mother Dorothy Bates Jackson from where she was working, Foremost Dairies, and drove out to the country house together. My poor mother must have been terrified and we prayed that it was not Daddy or Uncle Otis. As is classic, according to text books, Uncle Otis gave away his few belongings to the young boy living in the house before shooting himself. Those attending his funeral were as followed: S. N. Gamel Mrs. Mable Hamby Mrs. D. E. Lambert Mrs. Winona Graham Mr. and Mrs. Odis Bennett Frank Lambert Jerrie Jackson Dorothy Faye Jackson Jones Bill Jones C. Hamby Mrs. Edna Gamble Orville O.
