The Jock McIntyre Home PageUpdated August 5, 2008 |
I have been researching the surnames of McIntyre (previously Macintyre) and Allison of Perthshire Scotland, Fox of Sutton Bedfordshire England, Train of Hull England and previously Aberdeen in Scotland, MacDonald of Polmont Stirlingshire Scotland and previously of Pebbles & Eddleston, Lambert of Selkirk Scotland, Leveridge of Middlesex England and Conway of Wells England. Macintyre's and Allison's are traced back to mid 1700's from west of Rannoch Moor prior to Dunkeld and Perth in Perthshire. The son of James Macintyre & Euphemia Allison, Lauchlin MacPerson Macintyre sailed for New Zealand in 1862 aboard the ship "Silistria" which sailed from Glasgow. Some of the Allison family also emigrated to New Zealand during the nineteenth century. James MacDonald (a tailor from Polmont) brought his wife (Isabella Lambert of Selkirk) and 8 children to New Zealand in 1866 on the Black Swan. Fredrick Train and his wife Sarah Bailey-Kempling arrived in New Zealand in 1884 with their family. Others of both of these families emigrated to Canada. My correct First Name (as written) is Kenneth however I am known generally as Jock. I would appreciate being able to share any information you and I may have. |
