  • Edward Jameson, Esq. (63 KB)
Merchant of Cork, married first to Sarah Morrison, daughter of Abraham and Sarah Morrison who died 2 July 1799 on Morrison's Island, in the quay of the City Cork. His second wife was a Miss Emma Westropp. He was born at Cork in 1746, a son of Hugh and Mary (Scott) Jameson and he died in October of 1814.
  • Crypt Plan Church of Holy Trinity, Cork, Ireland (116 KB)
This is a plan of the crypt showing the Morrison and Jameson vaults under Church of Holy Trinity, Cork. The vicar who provided this to me in late sixties, said that long since the crypt had been filled in to protect the foundation of the church
  • "Children's Ages" The Barrys (136 KB)
Names and dates of birth for the children of Edward Loftus Hope Barry and Sarah "Sally" "Gran" Jameson (Belcher) Barry in Gran's handwriting. They were all born in Cork, Ireland.
  • Edward Loftus Hope Barry (122 KB)
He went security for a partner in Cork, Ireland and when the partner went bankrupt, he was financially embarrassed and sent his wife and children to America in June of 1850.
  • Gran (137 KB)
Sarah "Sally" Jameson (Belcher) Barry b. ca 1800 the eldest daughter of William Belcher, the younger and Sarah Jameson, his wife in Cork Ireland. She died at the Woodburn Grange, Macoupin County, Illinois on 24 January 1868.
  • Lieutenant William Belcher (30 KB)
born in England ca. 1758, he was the son of William and Mary (Yates) Belcher. He died before his daughter Jane Mildred was married in November 1848.
  • Sarah (Jameson) Belcher (33 KB)
"Charming and entertaining" were the words her great great granddaughter used to describe her. Her's is the first image that we have in the "Sarah Saga." Her grandmother began a line of nine generations of daughters, with only one exception to be named Sarah, with alternating generations called "Sally." Were we to know her middle name we would more than likely have her grandmother, Sarah Morrison's maiden name. She was born ca. 1774 in Cork, the daughter of Edward Jameson, Esq., merchant of that city and his first wife Sarah (Morrison) Jameson. She died at Cork on 26 August 1835.
