Mourning Baber (daughter of William Baber and Candace Walden)^{157, 158} was born 08 Apr 1781 in Bedford County, VA^{159, 160}, and died 21 Jan 1836 in Hilyard TWP, Macoupin Cty, IL^{161, 162}. She married James Powell Gray, Sr on WFT Est. 1797-1822 in Cabell Co,VA^{163, 164}, son of William H. Gray and Mary Ann Powell.

Mourning's father, William Baber died in 1809 in Bedford County, Va and his will was presented February 27, 1809(See Bedford County Will Book#3, page 192), he "Left to my daughter Mourning Gray, one pound sterling".
