Francois Reandeau

Updated October 21, 2006

Francis Reandeau was born around 1810 to Joseph Reandeau and Louise Sansthagrin in Canada. He married Dermatilde Vegiard in about 1839, Quebec Canada, she was the daughter of Antoine Vegiard and Marie L 'Heureaux. They lived in St. Thomas, Canada where they had Thomas in 1839, Lanior Oliver in 1840, Joseph in 1841, and Baptiste in 1844, Lizamer Onesime on March 17, 1845. It believed that the family emigrated into the United States sometime after the birth of Lizamer. Francis and Dermatilde had two other children, but, I do not know where they were born but believe, Iowa. They are Selina, year unknown and Ezilda 1848. They appear on the 1850 census for Dubuque Iowa. Francis and Dermatilde had Josephine in 1850 and Justine in 1855. Francis worked across the river in Wisconsins lead mines along with the Bertrand and Gendreau families. The family moved near Jefferson South Dakota where they built a structure called the 14 mile house. Dermatilde died in March 1887 and Francis died in 1894 Jefferson South Dakota. They are buried in the cemetery behind the Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD.
