Notes for WILLIS W. WALLS:
Confederate War records shows he served in Co. G, 47th Alabama Infantry. Enlisted May 14, 1862 in Wedowee, Randolph County,Alabama by Capt. John V. McKee. Enlisted as the drummer. Promoted to Chief musician, promoted to 2nd. Liutenant October 1864, promoted to 1st. liutenant Dec. 27, 1864, promoted to Captain April 10, 1865. Parole of Prisoners of War belonging to the Army of Northern Virginia, and this day surrendered by General Robert E. Lee, C.S.A., commanding said army to Lieut. General U.S. Grant, commanding Armies of United States. Done at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, April 9, 1865.
Died of yellow fever in Pensacola, Floriday in the Spring of 1905. Burial in St. John's cemetery. Worked for the Jesse French Piano and Organ Company.
