Georgia Land Lottery 1827, Franklin page 132, Capt. Tabors Dist., fortunate drawers-Jeremiah Walls, illegitimate. Lee County, number 226, district 5.

Land records in Huntsville land office, Alabama for 1841, 1860 & 1861. TWP 19S, which is the Randolph County area.

Jeremiah Walls was born in South Carolina, place not known in 1790. He is the father of Henry Walls and Zachariah Walls and at least 12 other children. He cannot be found on the 1850 census but does surface in the 1860 in Talladega County, Alabama. Is not in the 1870 but children living with him in the 1860 census are. Jeremiah's wife may be named Elizabeth or Betsey.

Attest to a bill of sale for land in Carroll County between Lindsey McKee, Randolph County and William Avria, Jr., Carroll County on 15 Jan 1846 with Carter White.

Carroll County Deed Book E lists the names of Justice of the Peace, 1843-1847, Jeremiah Wall et. al.

Pension list of Edgefield, South Carolina participants in the War of 1812, page 37 lists Jeremiah Walls, Youngblood's Reg't., South Carolina Militia. He was a private. Roll Box 218, Roll-Exct. 602.

I believe Delila's maiden name was Carter, daughter of John Carter from Edgefield County South Carolina, however, this hasn't been proven yet.

Jane was living with Jeremiah in Talladega County in 1860. Family member reported that she never married and lived on the Walls land until her death. She went by the name of Jennie.

  Notes for ANNIE WALLS:
Annie is reported to have not married and lived with Jane until her death. An elderly member of Zachariah's family stated that she was at the funeral and the family covered the inside of Annie's casket with rose petals.

  Notes for WILLIS W. WALLS:
Confederate War records shows he served in Co. G, 47th Alabama Infantry. Enlisted May 14, 1862 in Wedowee, Randolph County,Alabama by Capt. John V. McKee. Enlisted as the drummer. Promoted to Chief musician, promoted to 2nd. Liutenant October 1864, promoted to 1st. liutenant Dec. 27, 1864, promoted to Captain April 10, 1865. Parole of Prisoners of War belonging to the Army of Northern Virginia, and this day surrendered by General Robert E. Lee, C.S.A., commanding said army to Lieut. General U.S. Grant, commanding Armies of United States. Done at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, April 9, 1865.

Died of yellow fever in Pensacola, Floriday in the Spring of 1905. Burial in St. John's cemetery. Worked for the Jesse French Piano and Organ Company.
