The George Edward McKeever/Boston/Ireland site

Updated September 6, 2000

George McKeever born 1876/Boston or IrelandAlice Mary Kennedy spouse, born 1880/Boston or Ireland

George my grandfather, was in Boston until he died June 5, 1953. I do not know when he arrived here. I cannot find a birth record in Boston, therefore I believe he was born in Ireland, as he spoke with a heavy scotch Irish brogue, and came over as a young child. He married Alice Mary Kennedy date unknown. They raised 4 children in the Boston area. George Edward born March 19,1904,(his twin died), Joseph Arthur born 1909, Mary Esmerelda Wood birth date unknown, nee/ McKeever at the age of 47. I think I was 10 yrs old when she died in Roxbury Mass. that would approx. her birth at 1897, she was buried with her husband Chester Wood and Son who was killed in action in WW2 named Chester Jr., who was 18 yrs old. My grandparents had other children placed for adoption during the depression. Possibly a Robert in California, the rest unknown. There was a total of 9 children born to them.

Alice Mary Kennedy my grandmother, lived in Boston, Charlestown and Roxbury area, She spoke with a brogue and I believe she also came from Ireland as a child. I would like to locate the areas in Ireland my grandparents are from. Also the location of other offspring that were placed for adoption. I believe the total children was 9. I can only account for 3.

Twins are in the family. I had twin sons, My sister had twins, boy and girl and my father George Edward was a twin.
