Robert (Sir) PARKS was born June 3, 1580 in Poslingford, County Suffolk, England, and died February 4, 1664/65 in Stonington, Conn.. He married (1) Martha CHAPLIN on February 9, 1600/01 in Semer, Suffolk, England. He married (2) Alice THOMPSON on May 30, 1644 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Robert Parks came from England to America to Massachusetts in the "Arbella" in 1630. He was Secretary to Governor John Winthrop during the passage. Robert Parks and other passengers of the Winthrop Fleet settled at Roxbury, Massachusetts, presumably soon after landing at Massachusetts Bay He moved, with his son Thomas (2), to Wethersfield, Connecticut, in 1639 or 1640 with the settlers who mograted there, then to Pequet (now New London), 1649 or 1650; later to Mystic (now Stonington). He gave his home to his son William (2) Parks. He was Deputy to General Court, and selectman, and served in the Colonial forces.
