I am currently researching the family surnames of McKEE, GLOVER, ORCHARD, TALMAGE, & FISHER.
Sylvester George McKEE was born about 7-Nov - 1823 near Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. His parents were James and Sabra (Fox) McKee. He traveled from there to Kingston, West Canada-Ontario, Canada sometime between 1855 to 1866. He was married to a Arwilda THRASHER, daughter of William and Elizabeth THRASHER and she died of consumption in about 1856. She left four children,of which I know only two of those names Nellie and William. He then married Irene MOSHER (MOSHIER) and moved to Burnside Township, Lapeer County, Michigan in about 1866.
Nellie married a man named Haggerman and moved to northern Michigan near East Jordon I think. William later moved to near Van Couver, Washington.
Sylvester McKEE had 6 more children with Irene. These decendents have a reunion every year. For more information on this reunion please contact me.
William ORCHARD was from near Godshell,Isle of Wight, England and came to Canada homesteading several places before coming to where his son Herbert ORCHARD homesteaded near Peck, Sanilac County, Michigan in the mid 1850's or 1860's. These decendents have a family reunion every year also for more information please contact me for more details. Herbert's daughter Mabel married Hugh Ezra McKee about 1925.
The FISHER line I am researching is the Samuel FISHER who lived near Boston, Mass. and came on the alarm of 1775. I don't know much more on this line and would like to further this research. If you think you might be connected to any of these lines or interested in information on the reunions please feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone me regarding this.
