| The most important genealogical goal I have is to establish the connection, if possible, between Findla Mor Farquharson and the Mackinlay line which supposedly ensued from the sons of Findla Mor by his first wife. They settled in the area aroung Callander, Perthshire. Alternatively, there are other claimed origins for the Mackinlays, including Finlay Buchanan of Drumikill, according to Buchanan of Auchmar in 1723; the MacFarlanes of Luss and the area around the North of Loch Lomond; and, finally, a connection with the Stewarts of Appin is alleged which seems connected with the Livingstons from their progenitors, the McLeays. Anyone with any information that documents any of the above who would be willing to share same, I would be most grateful. |
