McKinney/Washburn/Roberts Family

Updated January 11, 2003

Rodney L. McKinney

I am researching the ancestors of James McKinney, b. October 29, 1794 and his wife, Amerilla Roberts.
Amerilla's father was Major John Roberts III and all resided in Northern New York at the time of their deaths. John Roberts III's spouse was known only as Polly. Her tombstone makes no reference to her maiden name.

Also researching Stephen Washburn and his wife, Rhoda Brayton. They lived in the area around Burke, New York, but their actual burial place is unknown. Stephen's parents were Reuben Washburn and Betsey (unknown maiden name), Reuben is beleived to be a son of Reuben and Dorcus.(So listed in "The Washburns In America"), but is not firmly documented and may have come from another line that decended from Elizabeth Mitchell and John Washburn.
Reuben Washburn is the brother of Phineus Washburn who resided in Milton, Vermont.
