This family history was sent to my Larry McKenzie's mother Carol Shiirrmacher McKenzie Hogue several years ago by her uncle Larry. Her grandmother was Cardera Estelle Bissell. In the list made out by congress he was placed next to George Washington and as a Brigadier General was placed by Washington over the right wing of the army at Roxbury during the siege of Boston. His statue stands in Washington and his jeweled sword is in Boston. The next spring in ill health he resigned his commission and there after died on Oct 28, 1800. He graduated from Princeton University in the class of 1873. He was admitted to the bar in the state of New York and was at one time the superintendent of New York's cancer hospital and a newspaper-advertising executive.
