Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My McLain family is primarily from North Dakota, but it can be tracked back to Ireland....of course.
I am running into problems finding information on my great grandfather, Samuel McClean (McLean). He was born 3/18/1841 in Ireland (county Down I think). He married Mary Jackson while in Donaghadee Ireland (county Down) and they emigrated to the U.S. in 1880, settling in Iowa. I am looking for any information on the McCleans or Jacksons while in Ireland. I would also be happy to share all of the other research I have on the family upon request.
