Notes for Richard McCarty: Richard McCarty was an early storekeeper in Coxsackie, NY. He erected a building in Coxsackie as a residence/store, which was afterwards opened as a tavern by Joseph Hoyt; David Blossom and Tom Carr followed later in the same business. Richard McCarty was appointed flour inspector in the city of New York and was later president of the Lafayette Bank, NYC.
February 1818: "Richard McCarty (on premises) selling Grist Mill and Saw Mill on 20 acres, 1.5 miles North of Coxsackie, 1/2 mile from river below Coxsackie creek and Deepkill, plus new residence. Contact Peter McCarty, NYC."
