I am researching the following surnames: Grothen, Stromer, Van Boening, Pierce, Rummell, Jenkins, McLeod, Scheer. Most of my family came from Germany. Settling in Illinois and later moving to Nebraska. Diedrich Grothen married in 1870 in Germany, they had 5 children Henry, Wagoneer, Fredrick, and Conrad. Jonathan Pierce married Polly ??? and had 11 children: Silas, Lucy, Betsy, Ann, Martin, Daniel, Darius, Adeline, Gaylord, Richard, and Polly. Egbert Sieben VanBohning married Engel Jannsen Bost before 1800. They had one child that I know Sieben Egbert Van Bohning. Apparently the name was changed to Van Boening at some point. Gerd Meents Stromer married Tomke Dirks in Germany. They had at least two children Elizabeth and Dirk. Thomas Jenkins married Susan Hunt. To their marriage was born William Jenkins in 1835. Edwin Rummell married Emily Batchelor in 1863 and to their marriage were born Charles, Clara, Harry, Emma, Florence, Catherine, and Bracken. Archie McLeod began the McLeod clan in the United States after leaving his native Scotland and spending time in Australia. The Scheer's came directly to Nebraska from Germany with Otto Max Scheer leading the way.

Any help you can give me with these family lines would be greatly appreciated. I would be glad to share any information I have with you.
