We are researching and compiling our family histories: that is, Forrest McLeod whose ancestors originated in the Isle of Skye, Scotland, and emigrated to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia in 1831; and the other main branch of our heritage, the Morrisons, who originated in the Isle of Harris, Scotland, and came to the same area of Cape Breton in about 1828. The first McLeod to arrive was Alexander, with his wife Flora; settled in the Upper Baddeck River. Their son Allan married Ann Morrison, and eventualy moved to the Whitney Pier area of Sydney. |
