"The McLeish's of Central NSW Australia"

I have just begun to research the "McLeish" Family Tree. I am a complete novice and must find a way into Scottish records. My earliset record is of my Great Gradfather John McLeish who was born in Edinburgh Scotland. He died in 1942 and is buried in the Cemetary at COWRA, NSW AUSTRALIA. He married Matilda Margaret Lappan who died in 1936 and is also buried at COWRA. He had 3 sons - John, William and Alexander and 1 daughter - Emily. His son John (1903 - 1980) was my grandfather and he married Mary Catherine Rush (1909 - 1954)
