Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I am researching the Rewai whanau from Masterton, New Zealand. Riwai Te Ropiha was born 1860, sailed by canoe to Rekohu (Chatham Islands) around 1875. He belonged to the tribe called Moriori. Due to the lack of women on the island, Kitty Karaka was born on the mainland, New Zealand and she was brought to the island to wed Riwai in 1884 and had 6 children. Their second born was my grandfather Joe. In addition, our entire whanau are contributing details for our whakapapa which we hope to complete for our first family reunion March 2010. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information I have.
