Alexander McLean came to Canada from Scotland. He and his wife Sarah bought from Mr. Stephen Yarwood ,the original owner ,150 acres in Russell County in the Clarence Township Range 8, Lot B. on September 8,1843. The family farmed the property until November 26,1872 when Alexander McLean died. The property was left to his wife Sarah, who later sold it to John Lindsay on November 24,1878.During the time the family lived on the farm they raised eight children,Jessie,Catherine,Ronald,Donald,Anne,Mary,George and Flora
