2. JOAB³ REEVES (HARVEY², JERIMIAH¹) was born November 17, 1842 in Madison County, Kentucky, and died April 02, 1891 in Madison County, Kentucky. He married MARTHA ELIZABETH GENTRY December 05, 1861 in Madison, County, Kentucky, daughter of BRIGHT GENTRY and CYNTHIA GENTRY.

Occupation Farmer

Joab Reeves is the son of Harvey & Margaret Jane Woolery Reeves. I have followed
Joab in the census records of Madison County,Kentucky in 1850, 60, 70 and 80.
In the 1850 find Joab living with his Mother & Father and one brother and
sister. In 1860 I find the family living in the house of Bailey Gentry
and it does note that Margaret and Bailey were married within the year.
Bailey is the brother of Bright Berry Gentry. Bright Berry Gentry is the father
of Martha Elizabeth Gentry who became Joab's wife in the early 1860's.
Joab's step-father was the uncle of Martha Elizabeth Gentry who later married
Joab.
The 1870 census shows Joab listed as Joseph living in Yates township,Madison
County:
Pg. 321 married to Martha,having four children William,Jerry,Benge,Lillburn.

1880 census shows Joab and Martha and children Harvey (William Harvey or
Harvey William, census entries vary), Jerry,B.M. who is shown as Benge in
1870), Lillburn, Bessie and Cynthia. Joseph, grandfather of Larry McLaughlin
was their last child born 1881.

There are no census records for 1890.

A book of Shawnee Run Baptist Church, by Arland W. Benningfield and Walter Lee
Bradshaw, show Joab as a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church, and being
involved in the children's home. It also contains cemetery records that shows
Martha Reeves, b. 4 Oct 1838 d. 15 Jul 1887, wife of J.A. Reeves. Beside Martha
is Joab Reeves, b. 17 Nov. 1842 d. 2 April 1891, with dates taken from their
headstones.

I have deeds in Madison Co., Ky. between Joab Reeves and Martha Gentry Reeves'
and Martha's siblings William Christopher Gentry (and wife Mary E. Cox Gentry)
and Nancy Jane (Gentry) Garrett. (Deed Book 29, pg. 77-78, Madison Co. Clerk's
Office, Madison Co., Ky.)

Joseph Reeves' birthdate was from personal knowledge from his daughter, Lucy
Ellen Reeves, mother of Larry L. McLaughlin

Notes for MARTHA ELIZABETH GENTRY:
The 1860 U. S. census of Madison Co., Ky. shows Martha living with a
Solomon Turpin and his family with Kitty Gentry, William Lamb and David Gentry.
I am not sure who Kitty is. William may be the son of Fannie Gentry who
married Thomas Lamb,the sister of Martha Gentry. Martha had occuupation as a
Weaver & Spinner

I have proved that Martha E. Gentry is the d/o Bright Berry Gentry from a
certified copy of her marriage license in Madison County, Ky. court records and
by land deeds (Deed Book 29, pg.77-78 Madison Co., Ky.)

This land deed shows William Christopher Gentry and his wife, and Joab
Reeves and Martha E. Gentry Reeves, selling land for $1 to William
Christopher and Martha's sister, Nancy J. Gentry Garrett.
This land was left to William C. Gentry and Martha E. Gentry Reeves by their
mother, Cynthia Gentry who had received this land from her husband, Bright
Berry Gentry, in his last will and testament.

Martha E. Gentry, by the will of her father, Bright Berry Gentry, was "Martha
Elizabeth Gentry".

Notes for BENGE M REEVES:
Benge is listed as B. M. Reeves in the 1880 census of Madison Co., Ky. with

her parents. There was a family named Benge living in Madison Co., Ky.

Benge or B.M. is never found again after the 1880 census.

3. DEBY³ REEVES (HARVEY², JERIMIAH¹) was born 1846 in Lawrence, County, Indiana. She married REUBIN KINDRED February 27, 1862 in Madison, County, Kentucky, son of JOHN KINDRED and MINERVA MORAN.

Notes for DEBY REEVES:
Deby Reeves: I find a Deb in the 1860 Census of Madison County,Kentucky
married to Reubin Kindred.Deby's step-father, Bailey Gentry, was first married
to a Lucinda Kindred. I believe Reubin's father, John Kindred was the brother
of Lucinda Kindred. Deby's step-brother, Martin Gentry married Cynthia Kindred,
Reuben's sister.

1850 Census of Madison County, Div.#1 Pg. 258 has her name Deby 4 years old
Daugther of Harvey & Margaret Reeves,

1860 Census of Madison County,Ky Div #1,Pg. 88 shows her name as Debby
14 years old

I have a copy of the marriage certificate of Rubin Kindred & Debora Reeves on
27 Febuary 1862, Madison County,Kentucky,at the home of Bailey Gentry.Bailey
is her step-father. Marriage listed in Madison County Records.

The 1870 census of Madison Co., Ky. shows Deb as 23 yrs. old, married to
Reubin with one child named Margaret 6 years old.

The 1880 census of Madison Co., Ky show Deby/Deb as Deborah married to Reubin
Kindred, with four children: Maggie aged 16; Ella aged 9; a female aged 5
whose name is unreadable, and Sallie, aged 2..
The 1900 census of Madison Co., Ky. census, Kavanaugh Voting Precinct,
Supervisor's District #8, Enum. #47, Sheet #7, page #116B, dtd. 12 June 1900.
Rubin Kindred, white male, born Dec. 1840 Madison Co., age at census 59,
married 37 years, and parents born Ky. (Son of John Kindred and Minerva Jane
Moran- Minerva half-sister to Martha E. Gentry) Deby, wife of Rubin, lists a
son, Joseph, aged 17, birth date of January 1, 1883. He was born after the last
census of record (1880). The census indicates Reubin and Deb had 9 children, 5
of whom were living (1900 census).

This census of 1900 is the last census where I can locate Reubin Kindred and
his wife, Deb (Reeves) Kindred. The whereabouts of them and their descendants
is unknown by Larry McLaughlin, author of this record.

In the 1870 census of Madison County,Kentucky the Reeves, Gentry and Kindred
families lived in close proximity to each other.

Could not find Deby or family members after the 1900 census.
