William, aged 8; Jerry, aged 7; Benge aged 3; and Lillburn, aged 1.

William Harvey Reeves is in the 1880 census of Madison Co., Ky. with his
parents, Joab and Martha E. (Gentry) Reeves as "Harvey Reeves" aged 17, a
laborer. All family members born in Ky. Brother Jerry is 16; B.M. (Benge) is
13; Lillburn is 10; and Bessie is aged 6.

The 1890 census records are not available, all having burned.

In 1900, he is in the census of Douglas Co. Illinois (Sargent Twp.), Supv. Dist
7, Enum. Dist no 57, sheet 11, pg. 11, dtd 20 June 1900 with his family as:
HH 219 Dwelling 219..William Reeves b. Oct 1862;aged 37, md. 16 years, can
read, write and speak English and rents his house. Wife, Ida (Marrs) Reeves is
b. Aug. 1866 aged 33. William Reeves b. Ky, both parents, b. Ky.
Children, Ida P. Reeves, b. May 1885 aged 15; Anna I, b. Dec. 1888 aged 11;
Alice L. b. Mar. 1891 aged 9; Helen T. b. Feb 1892 aged 8; Hazel M. b. Aug 1893

parents as Ky. Joe Bradford is a laborer living with the family, b. Nov. 1879
and aged 20 born Ky. with parents b. Ky. All William's children born Illinois.

In 1920,he is in the census of Trumbull County,Ohio (Vienna),Supervisor's
District # 18,Enumeration District # 291,sheet #8A,Pg. 105,Dated 17,18,19
Janurary 1920,as living on a Farm,Family # 186,Dwelling # 190,
William M. Reeves,age 57,wife Ida age 52, at this census they have added two
more children Kenneth ,age 12,Forrest age 9,both born in Illinois, other
information is that they all can speak English,children are in school,and they
own the farm. The only thing is William middle name starting with an M. should
be H.,from names listed in this census I think that this is the same family
that was recorded in the 1900 Census of Illinois. Have been unable to obtain a
readable copy of the 1910 census.

Sarah and Jerry Doyle Reeves were married 14 years, had 9 children, 6 of whom
were living and enumerated above. He rented a farm and he could read, write
and speak English. His wife is said to have been Sarah Justice. His occupation
was as a farmer.

Notes for SARAH (SALLY) ELIZABETH JUSTICE:
The maiden name of Sarah (Justice) is the same maiden name as Alpha Retta
Justice. Jerry Doyle Reeves' sister-in-law, Laura Ellen (Bagley) Reeves, wife
of Jerry Doyle's brother Joseph A. Reeves, was a d/o John Humphrey Bagley and
his wife Alpha Retta (Justice) Bagley. It is family oral history that Laura
Ellen's mother, Alpha Retta (Justice) Bagley was an aunt to Jerry Doyle's wife,
Sallie (Justice) Reeves.

This is oral history and unproved by any legal record.

Reeves (b. 1911).

Bessie was b. June 1864 in Ky. with parents b. Ky. They have one child, Louis
Grigsby, b. March 1892 (age 8) born Kentucky with parents b. Ky. All can read,
write and speak English and rent a home, with James a farm laborer. James and
Bessie have been married 10 years, with two children, one living (Louis).

8. CYNTHIA⁴ REEVES (JOAB³, HARVEY², JERIMIAH¹) was born 1879 in Madison County, Kentucky, and died 1966 in Burgin, Mercer, Kentucky. She married CHARLES BRADSHAW September 17, 1896 in Burgin, Shawnee Run, Mercer, Kentucky, son of GEORGE BRADSHAW and MARY DODDS.

Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery Records, from Shawnee Run Baptist Church,
Mercer Co., Ky. by Arland Benningfield and Walter Bradshaw, pg. 2 (Cemetery
records section) shows Cynthia M. Bradshaw was b. in 1878 and died in 1966

Charles B. Bradshaw, her husband, was born in 1868 and died in 1935.

Although family history is that Cynthia was childless, she does show one child,
Lucille Bradshaw, b. 6 Jan 1903 and d. 6 Aug. 1903 "child of C.B. and
C.M. Bradshaw" in Cemetery Records of Shawnee Run Baptist Church.

Cynthia Bradshaw lived in Burgin, Ky. Larry McLaughlin has a picture of "Aunt
Cynthia" taken in 1955 while on a trip to Kentucky with Joseph Reeves and Lucy
Ellen Reeves McLaughlin to visit.

9. JOSEPH A⁴ REEVES (JOAB³, HARVEY², JERIMIAH¹) was born January 28, 1881 in Richmond, Madison Co., Kentucky, and died October 1956 in Ohio. He married LAURA ELLEN BAGLEY March 01, 1903, daughter of JOHN BAGLEY and ALPHA JUSTICE.

Information that I have on Joseph Reeves comes from my mother, Lucy Ellen
Reeves, who is the daughter of Joseph Reeves.

I remember very little of grandpa Reeves but do remember the time that he, my
parents and I all went to Kentucky to visit Cynthia Reeves Bradshaw who is
Joseph Reeves' sister.

This visit was approximately summer of 1955 and Grandpa Reeves took me up on
High Bridge a railroad bridge that runs through Burgin, Mercer County, Kentucky.
I have a picture Joseph & myself on the bridge- I also have a picture of myself
and my great-aunt Cynthia Reeves Bradshaw taken the same day.
I can date the visit because my mother was pregnant with my
sister Debbie when we went for the visit and Debbie was born in Nov., 1955.

Joseph (Jody) Reeves was an orphan in 1893.I have a story written by Jody after
his father died (dated 12 April 1898). I believe that this should read 12
April 1893, because he (Jody) gives his age as eleven.

English. He is b. Ky. with both parents b. Ky.

Reeves, Retta P. is aged 14, b. Ill., father b. Ky., mother b. Illinois
George T. is aged 12 as above for Retta
Glen E. is aged 10 "
Martha L. is aged 8 "
Margaret E. is aged 6 "
Clarabell is aged 3y. 5/12 mo. "
Joseph E. is aged 1 y. 5/12 mo. "

As of 1995, children Retta Pearl, Glen E. and Martha L. are the only children
now deceased. George Tipton Reeves, Margaret E. Reeves Strange, Clarabell
Fitzsimmons and Joseph E. Reeves listed are very alive and well, as well as
other children born after this census.
