Dedicated to the memory of Lucy Lynn Shofner Tigert and Margaret Hill Shofner Sullivan who inspired the true meaning of "family" and belonging to someone. So that all their research may go on for many generations, this I do for them. Families from early America are included: Gilmers of Virginia, Powers of Georgia, Shofners of Tennessee, Lewis and Meriwether families of Virginia, Woodwards, Adams, Tigert, Crawford, Logan, Ingle, White, Martin, Wood, McLean, Coffey, Endsley, Hampton, etc. More than twenty generations in many instances. This research is ongoing and may not be completely accurate. Please contact me if you wish to add, edit, or change any information.

Gravesite: Shofner Cemetery in Lincoln Co., TN (68 KB) Buried here are Nancy Logan Shofner, Jeptha Harrison Shofner; their sons, Christopher and Newton Shofner, their grandchildren, Margaret and Phoebe, all descendants of Michael and Margaretha Shofner of Germany. Newton Shofner's Grave (60 KB) Died from wounds suffered at Battle of Stone's River, Civil War. Buried beside brother Christopher who also died as POW.
