Gerald and Bethel Evens were World War II sweethearts. They met through their respective siblings who had married. They corresponded hroughout the War, while Gerald was stationed at Wheeler Air Force Base, Hawaii, near Pearl Harbor. They married April 28, 1945, had three beautiful children, and 11 grandchildren. They were married close to 50 years, and Grandpa Evens is still very missed today.
