| Thomas Mc Laughlin was born in Carlingford, County Louth, Ireland about 1806. He came to the Chicago area and worked on the Illinois and Michigan Canal. He raised seven children in the Palos area of southwestern Cook county. Two daughters married the Ryan brothers from Tipperary, Ireland. Their descendants are included in the Mc Laughlin/Ryan Family Tree. Other major families included are Hennenessey and Houlihan, who came to Chicago from Ireland via Canada in the mid-19th century, and the Mc Laughlin and Ryan families from County Mayo, Ireland, who arrived at the beginning of the 20th century. I would appreciate any information you might have on these families. I am willing to share my information. |
