I am researching the McLaren family from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. William Paterson MacLaren was born in Stirling, Scotland in 1810, the son of Duncan MacLaren and Jean Paterson. He immigrated to Canada in the 1820s or 1830s. W.P. MacLaren married Jane Evatt, the daughter of Capt. Henry Evatt. Other surnames being researched are Gates, Cunliffe, Houston.
