| My family and I are interested in completing some research into the branch of the McMurtry family that we occupy. I was born and raised in Sheridan, Indiana, and my family resided in and around Sheridan and Boxley, Indiana, since the 1820's. My deceased aunt, Edith McMurtry, did considerable research into our family in 1924 and she was assisted in doing so by my great grandfather, William S. McMurtry. I am also interested in doing research into the family history of my maternal grandmother, Estelle Kercheval Wallingford, and my maternal grandfather, Samuel K. Wallingford. Both were residents of Indiana, but lived in Oklahoma and Kansas at times during their life. I am willing to share with other members of the McMurtry Family the considerable research that I obtained from my deceased aunt and great grandfather. I also have some research from a person who I believe was a niece of my great grandfather that dates from the 1910's. |
