We are researching the families of Donald McMillan and Marjorie Leavitt. Marjorie's paternal line has been traced for 7 generations thanks to the book by Edwina Hare on the Durang family; however we have not been able to trace her maternal line very far. Marjorie's father, Henry Jacob Lucas, connects to the Druangs. Marjorie's mother was Marjorie Kay Lucas, but we have little information about her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Post (also referred to as Bessie Post). Her grandfather, Harry Lucas was born in England in 1856, but we do not know the maiden name of his wife and we know little about Harry.
Donald's father was Chandler B. McMillan. His paternal line traces back to David McMillan, born in Virginia in 1798. David's father was John McMillan, but we know nothing more about him and very little about David. Donald's paternal grandmother's line traces back to Andrew Cruikshank who fought in the Revolutionary War. Donald's mother, Ruth Elizabeth Beach, was adopted and we know nothing of her genetic parents, so we have elected to trace back the family lines of the Beachs who adopted Ruth. Her parents were Edgar J. Beach and Minnie Swartzlander. One World Tree has data submitted that traces the Beachs back for 10 generations.
