| Douglas Glenn McMane 36 Blossom Drive Pomfret Center,CT 06259 | I live with my wife Lilly in Northeastern Connecticut now, but my Father, my Grandfather, and I were born in Summit, New Jersey and environs.My Great-Grandfather was born in New York City, and moved to the Summit, New Jersey area by 1850. My Great-Grandfather was William McMane(s).He served in the Civil War.There are suggestions he had adventures in the Mid-West or West of which we know little.He married Mary Hulderman in West Virginia before returning to Summit for the rest of his life.He died there in 1908. My Grandfather was Frederick McMane.He lived in Summit all his life. My Father was Robert McMane.He married Ella Margaret Payne in Summit and moved with my brother David and I to Plessis, NY.He lived in Plessis and Alexandria Bay, NY until he died in 1982. My brother and I are researching the family and would be delighted to hear from anyone who knew of our ancestors. |
