Mary E. Lemon Hamer was the wife of Henry Thomas Hamer, the oldest son of Hugh Hamer. She was the daughter of Dr Jacob and Mary Ann Hammersley Lemon. She died in Ottawa, Kansas, in 1898. Her five children all died before her. Her husband returned to Lawrence County Indiana about 1900 where he died in 1915. This is from a copy of a painting done by Patrick Davenport in 1856.
