McMahon Family Ireland to Canada

Updated December 31, 2001

James McMahon came to the USA prior to 1827 and had a son William who was born there. There are family stories that suggest that James' wife died and William was sent back to Ireland (Fermanagh) to live with his Grandmother. William married Mary Browne at Holy Trinity Church in Kinawley Parish, Fermanagh,Ireland, Oct 23, 1846.
In March 1848 they came to the USA with their son John and between this time and Feb 26, 1850 they came to Hope township in Ontario, Canada. The events leading to this are a mystery to me, as is the whereabouts of William's father James. Rumour suggests that he remarried and settled somewhere in Canada or the USA. This is the information that I seek and the rest is detailed on the web site. Anyone who may have a mysteries that sound familiar, or believe we may have a connection are welcome to contact me. Thanks John McMahon
