|I am researching Silas B. McMorries born in Kentucky in August of 1843. His parents were from S. Carolina. He was married to Helen McMorries, from Tennessee, who was born in February of 1850. They had three children, Lee Whitfield McMorries (March 7, 1868 to October 11, 1942), Cam McMorries (September 18, 1888 to September 10, 1897), and one unidentified child. They were reported to have lived in Western Kentucky until approximatly 1886 when they went to Arkansas. They lived five years in Cleveland County and then a year or a year and one half in Van Buren County. They then settled in Kiowa, I.T. Kiowa is in Oklahoma, Pittsburg County. Helen died July 25,1902. Silas died after the 1910 census, his stone has no dates.
I am attempting to discover the names of the parents of S.B. McMorries.
Lee Whitfield McMorries was a doctor. In the 1900 census he had a boarder named Bandon McMorries born in October of 1880. Bandon's occupation is shown to be a student of medicine. He is shown to have been born in Kentucky with his father from Kentucky, and mother from Alabama.
