John McMillin is researching the following Family Trees:
James McMillin/an, my great-great grandfather: (b. 1802 PA, NC, or VA?; m. Elizabeth Hess in PA) moved from Fayette Co., PA to Ohio, late 1820's/early 1830's, then with family to Jefferson Co., IA in 1839. Homesteaded in Wapello, Co., IA near Ottumwa/Agency in 1843; this area thenceforth.

I'm especially trying to "pick up the trail" on James or siblings prior to 1839. Apparently several spelling variations in early records: McMillan, McMellen, McMillen, etc.

Phillip Hargesheimer, my great-great grandfather: (b. 1825, Bavaria?); his son Philip A. Hargesheimer (b. 1866; m. Martha A. McGlothen, b. 1869); Eddyville, IA area thenceforth.

Lois G. (Cossel) McMillin is researching the following Family Trees:

Michael Cossel: (b. 1775, Ger.; m. Mary Fleenor, b. 1786); lived in Washington Co., VA, later Clark/Coles Co., 1830-40). His grandson, Michael, my great-great grandfather, moved to Jefferson Co., IA abt. 1844, then Davis Co., IA abt. 1854. Possibly several surname variations: Cossell, Cassel, Cassill, etc.

Rowlee Eastman French, my great-great grandfather: (b. 1822, m. Elizabeth Jane McCullough); family migration seems to be NY, IN, and finally Davis Co., IA.

Christian Miller, my great-great grandfather: (b. 1821 Ger., m. Margaret Sun Farris); lived adult life in Prairie Twp.,Schulyer Co., MO. Germania Lutheran Church affiliation.

Lewis B. Piper, my great-great grandfather: (b. 1812, TN; m. Lucinda?, KY). Family and descendants lived in the Schuyler and Scotland Co., areas of MO.

We will deeply appreciate any information about our Family Trees;
and will gladly share our 1500 name Family Tree Maker File with others.

Sincerely, John & Lois
