Johnston Cook and wife, Grandfather and Grandmother of G.W. Cook(Jr).
They came from North Carolina to the State of Kentucky and theysleep in Kentucky.
George Washington Cook, my father, was born in N.C., came to Kentucky. From Kentucky my Father and brothers came to Illinois and settled on the hillwhere I now live. He came to Illinois in 1855 or 1856. He was born in 1808 anddied in 1894. He was buried in Mitchell Grave yard in second row west of gateand second grave north of cedar tree. Adolphe Cook in first grave North of Cedarand my mother N.J. Cook sleeps the third grave north of cedar tree.
I, G.W. Cook, was born April 15th, 1857 on this hill where I nowlive and expect to stay as long as God wants me to stay on this earth and whenHe is done with me here, take me to Mitchell Grave yard, lay me just north sideof mother, there to wait the coming of my Savior.
Granfather and Grandmother Aldridge, on my mothers side, camefrom Kentucky or Tenn. I don't know which. They sleep at Old Bear Point Graveyard, just at east side of that big black Oak tree that stands on the northside of grave yard. Mother, Nancy Jane Cook, was born July 8th, 1816, and diedJan. 7th, 1902. She lived a devoted Christian life for over 50 years. Now thisis the great grandfather and (great)grandmother of my children.
Aldridge and a half sister and her little girl and John A. Rodman,my half brother, have five children all lying in the same row, in the firstrow on the east side of grave yard, then running south.
This is a copy of record given to John I. Cook by his father GeorgeW. Cook.
