I am doing research of the McMullen family. Originally the McMullen(McMullan)family came from Scotland. In 1603,they crossed into Ireland (county Armagh), where they remained until 1845. They left Ireland and set sail for the United States, and eventually settled in Ontario. (Brockville and Orillia) The McMullen's that settled in Brockville had first gone to Bradford and Toronto finally to Brockville where McMullen established his business of selling books, McMullen was highly respected in Brockville. He was friends with William Lyon McMullen, and gave the Consertive Party his earnest support. His children, twelve I believe, remained in the area as well as some situating in Toronto. His brother situated in Orillia and had family some moving to Toronto area. My father, Marvin McMullen, now deceased, along with his brothers and sisters Norma, Patricia, Barbra, Clinton, and Kenneth lived in North Toronto, Erskine Ave to be precise around the 1920's. They attended John Fisher Public School and Northern Collegate. The father my (grandfather) worked for the city and died at the early age of 49 of a heart attack Marvin, my father served in the second world war. He returned and worked in Toronto Two years later he met a married Lola Ruth Stone. I was born two years later in 1949. Iam trying to piece together the time between 1902 and approx. 1925 wether it be the of McMullen of Brockville or McMullen who settled in Orillia Ontario. Willing to share my info (1603-1902) if it is a link you are looking for. |
