Welcome to my home page. The names I am researching are:FORTENBERRY, HICE, MILLER, RIKARD, and MCMANUS.

Isaac Fortenberry moved to Cherokee County, Alabama in 1846. He was 9 years old and moved with his parents, Charles and Alsey, from Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a private in the Confederate Army and was wounded at the Battle of Stones River.

Irene Lucille Hice was born in 1901. Her father was Jim Hice. She lived in Colbert and Limestone County, Alabama.

John Pinkleton Miller was born in Alabama in 1864 to John Miller and Mary Pounders. His wife, Josephine Prestage, died in 1899. In 1900 he married Callie Dona Williams in Colbert County, Alabama.

William "Buck" Rikard was born Jan. 8, 1810 in Franklin Co., Alabama. His grandfather was Thomas Rikard who came from Kirchberg, Germany in 1748. Buck married Frrances Taylor.

Two brothers, Leonard Carmine and A.G. McManus, moved to Alabama from Louisiana. They married sisters, Mary and Margaret Thompson from Cherokee Co., Alabama. Bothe settled in Lauderdale Co., Alabama.
