The headstone belongs to Capt. George Francis McMartin of the Idaho Field Artillery. He is buried in Forest Cemetery, Government Way, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

In the hunt for information, the headstone of George McMartin, father of Captain George was located. Our search for roots lead us to Round Prarie, Idaho.

As we arrived in Round Prarie, we found the Gillon Property on Robinson Lake. This home by map, was just North of the homesteaded area.

George Knox McMartin was buried October 12, 1990 at Glenn Abbey Cemetery, in a wall tomb near his mother Blanche Muriel McMartin. The inscription is hard to see but cites his motto in life "MEDIOCRITY NOT ALLOWED" and the Masonic Emblem.

We search the area indicated by maps and found an old burned down structure. It is impossible to say if this is the spot due to the weathering and growth. But it is close as the maps will show.
