James Caldwell (son of James Caldwell) was born Bet. 1720 - 1740 in ,,,Ireland, and died Bef. November 24, 1796 in ,Columbia Co, GA. He married Jane McNeil, daughter of James McNeil.

Witnesses: Peter Crawford & James Armor - widow Jane - 100 acres ets to son John - 100 acres etc to son James Knights Roster of Revolutionary soldiers: Certificate of Service in American Revolution: James Caldwell. Certificate of Col., James McNeil 15 March 1784 that he was entitled to bounty of 250 acres of land and prays for same in Franklin County. Certified List of Georgia Troops: James Caldwell and John Caldwell Harvy List: Lt. John Caldwell & Lt. Wm Caldwell So far, no known relationship to these Revolutionary Caldwell soldiers. Believe there is some realtionship to McNeils perhaps through both Caldwell and Culbreath families.
