| I am researching the MCNABB family (may also include spellings of McNab and Macnab). My family appears to have come to America from Scotland through Pennsylvania. They then migrated to Ohio, then Illinois and finally, Michigan. John Dewey McNabb was born in Soperville, Illinois on July 8, 1897. His father appears in the census records of both 1900 and 1910 as William L. McNabb from Ohio, but other records indicate that his name was Lewis Wilson McNabb. John's mother was Isabella Wilkinson (Father was Ralph and mother was Ellen Hutchins)and John had two sisters and one brother. The Brother was Ralph and the sisters were Flora Belle and Nellie. John served in the army in WWI and spent quite a bit of time in Veterans Hospitals. John married Agnes Angela Hominga in 1925 in Chillicothe, Ohio. I have not been able to find any documentation on his military service or his marriage license. Lewis Wilson McNabb was born in Fairfield, Ohio and Isabella was born in England and emigrated to the US in 1880. Lewis' father was Milton McNabb, who was born in Scotland (according to the 1900 and 1910 census records) or in Fairfield, Greene County, Ohio (according to other information), and his mother was Amanda Didie or Ditty, who was born in Pennsylvania. Milton's father was William and mother was Sara Coryell/Coriell. Please contact me if you have any information on the McNabb, Wilkinson or Didie/Ditty families. I also need help on 2 Magee lines. The first one runs from Henry Magee (Sons John & Roger) through John & Catherine from Castle Doe County Donegal Ireland to Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania (Sons Henry & Patrick) through Patrick & Rosannah nee Brannon also from Castle Doe to Mageetown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania (Children Margaret, Mary, John Francis, Nancy, James, Henry, Patrick & Michael) through Mary & Manasses McFadden (Children Manasses, Mary, Margaret, Nancy, Ellen Hanna, Catherine, Susan, John & Rosannah) through Rosannah and John Swaney, Jr. through their son James & Harriet nee Lardie, through their son George & Anna Belle nee Lardie, through their Son Elmer & Lillian nee Magee (my Grandparents). The second one runs from John & Zaddy Magee (Children Caroline, Charlotte, Walter, Clarissa, Andrus & George) through Andrus & Harriet nee Sarah or Sain from New York (Children Albert, William, Oscar, David, John, Caroline & Frank) through William & Mary nee Tompkins from Watertown, New York (Children Mary, Lillian, Charles, Fern & Eva) through Charles & Belle May nee Desormier (Children Lillian, Helen & Mildred) through their daughter Lillian & Elmer Swaney (my Grandparents). |
